You won’t be able to get the original build info for that 12‑valve just from the 5‑digit number “10686”; Cummins build data is tied to the full 8‑digit Engine Serial Number (ESN) and CPL, not a short stamped sequence.
To find what that engine was originally (year, HP, CPL, etc.), you’ll need to locate the Cummins data plate on the front gear cover/left side of the block, get the full ESN and CPL from it, and then call a Cummins dealer or use an online ESN lookup to pull the build sheet.
