This particular Titan 52‑gallon tank (part 7010201) is engineered specifically for crew cab, short‑bed (6.5 ft) 2500/3500 Duramax trucks, not extended/extra cabs.
Your 2008 2500HD extra cab 6.5 ft box is very close, but Titan lists a different part number for extended‑cab short‑bed applications, so I would not count on this one fitting correctly without modification.
